Buffalo Cauliflower Bites in Your Air Fryer

Anytime I can get my family to eat veggies it’s a great day. Buffalo Cauliflower Bites in your air fryer is a win in more ways than one. Crispy, golden brown with a taste and consistency that makes it almost impossible to stop popping them in your mouth…and frankly, there’s no reason you have to stop!

This Cauliflower Bites recipe is simple and you probably have most of the ingredients in your pantry already! The spicy buffalo flavor is always welcome in our house, much like these Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps.

I made these for Super Bowl Sunday as a great addition to our snacks.

Ingredients for Buffalo Cauliflower Bites

You will need:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce (plus more for dipping, I like Franks)
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose flour
  • 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 kosher salt

Dipping Sauces

Some suggestions for dipping cooked bites:

  • Blue cheese dressing
  • Ranch dressing
  • Hot sauce (Franks buffalo sauce or preferred)

Substitutions You May Need

All-Purpose Flour: If you are on a keto diet, you’ll want to substitute the all-purpose flour with almond flour, although I haven’t tried it yet.

Panko bread crumbs: You can also use plain regular bread crumbs, or perhaps even an Italian bread crumb style could also work.

How to make Buffalo Cauliflower Bites in your Air Fryer in about 30 min

You won’t feel stuck in the kitchen making these Buffalo Bites. You’ll find that it’s a very straightforward recipe and the prep only takes about 15 minutes.

Step one: Starting with a washed and completely dry head of cauliflower cut or break into bit sized pieces.

Step two: In a large bowl, fully mix the melted butter and hot sauce.

Step three: Add the cauliflower florets to the bowl of butter and hot sauce. Combine until cauliflower bites are fully coated.

Step four: Preheat the air fryer to 350.

Step five: Mix together dry ingredients (flour, dried parsley, garlic powder and salt) and add to the bowl of cauliflower. Toss until well coated.

Step six: Spray air fryer cooking rack with cooking spray.

Step seven: Place cauliflower buffalo bites on cooking rack, single layer, without touching too much.

Step eight: Cook in air fryer for 11-13 minutes or until golden brown and tender. They will continue to darken a bit as they cool down.

Step nine: Repeat the cooking process until the buffalo bites have all been cooked.

Step ten: Keep warm in a warm oven as necessary until all have been cooked. Serve with blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing as desired.

Are Buffalo Cauliflower Bites cooked in an Air Fryer healthy?

It depends what your goals are or what type of diet you are following. Traditionally cauliflower bites are known to be keto friendly, but they easily have a place in almost any diet you may be following.

I don’t like drawing too many lines in the sand when it comes to what I eat, rather I plan for almost anything I want to eat by tracking my food and planning the rest of the day’s food accordingly.

Practically anything cooked in an air fryer will be a better choice than frying in oil – so that’s a win right there.

Cauliflower is a great choice of fiber rich vegetable and these bites are more filling than you may realize!

So don’t waste as much time as I did before trying these Buffalo Cauliflower Bites! They will be great as a snack or side dish any day – game day or not!

Notes

The bites are best served with a side of blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing and additional hot sauce.
It is normal to have some of the breading left in the bowl after fully coating the cauliflower.
These bites don’t do well reheated, so make them right before you’re ready to enjoy.
