One of my favorite ways to serve this creamy salad dressing is over a simple cucumber and tomato salad. But once you try it, you’ll see how the dill and fresh lemon are the perfect complement to main course meals, like this Lemon Dill Salmon or Chicken, as a sauce. So, you may want to make a double batch while you’re at it.

Making your own healthy recipes for homemade salad dressings or these healthiest dipping sauces ensures you are in control of the ingredients you are eating. People are sometimes surprised, when they look on the labels of bottles dressings, that the first few ingredients are vegetable oil or canola oil, water and sugar! That’s the best part about this recipe, it makes healthy eating super easy with simple ingredients you probably keep on hand.

Healthy Dill Dressing Variations and Tips

  • Cheese: Freshly grated parmesan cheese goes great with the lemon and dill in this recipe
  • Tangy variation: If you prefer the flavors of a lemon dill vinaigrette, you can loosen this dressing up and give it some of those same flavors by adding a little bit of white wine vinegar. You won’t need more than about a tablespoon. For even more lemon flavor you can add a little lemon zest.
  • Savory additions: For extra depth of flavor, you can add about 1/2 tablespoon of Dijon mustard or Worcestershire sauce.
  • Herbs: This healthy salad dressing is so versatile. Add any fresh herb you like. Diced chives, oregano, rosemary and thyme all give this recipe great flavor. Just be careful not to add too much so it doesn’t overpower the flavor of the dill.

What Other Ways Can I Serve This Dill Sauce Recipe?

  • The fresh dill and lemon flavor are great over a Greek salad or simple green salad, but it doubles as an awesome savory sauce for Salmon or Chicken.
  • Add a fun twist to pasta salads with this dressing recipe. Just add your favorite pasta with some fresh shopped veggies and you have an easy side dish that’s great for potluck or backyard BBQs.
  • If you want to add the most incredible flavor to potato salad, use this dressing! You will simply love the fresh and light flavor it gives the potatoes.
  • Serve it with veggies sticks as an awesome dip. If you want it to be a little bit thicker, you can add a little extra of the plain yogurt to give it a nice dip consistency.
  • You can even add this to your healthy breakfasts. Wake up that boring avocado toast with a drizzle of dill dressing. The fresh herb flavor is amazing with the creamy avocado.

How Long Does Fresh Dill Dressing Last?

This dressing should stay fresh for about a week in the fridge. The fresher ingredients you use, the longer it will last. For example, when you purchase the Greek yogurt, look for an expiration date the furthest away as you can.

Can I Use Regular Yogurt for this Dressing?

While unsweetened, plain yogurt will work, you should keep in mind that Greek yogurt has twice the amount of protein and a lot less carbs and sugar as regular yogurt.
