Equipment

  • Apple peeler, optional

Ingredients
  

  • 5 whole Granny Smith Apples Peeled & sliced
  • 1-2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 teas Cinnamon

For the topping

  • 1 cup Old-Fashioned Oats
  • 1/2 cup Almond Flour
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts crushed
  • 3/4 teas Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teas Salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup

Instructions
 

  • Peel, core and slice apples. 
  • Toss to lightly coat apples with lemon juice and then the cinnamon.
  • Spread apples into baking dish.
  • Heat maple syrup and butter in the microwave for 30 seconds until melted. Stir to mix thoroughly.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the almond flour, oats, crushed walnuts, cinnamon, salt, maple syrup and butter until oats are moist and the mixture is clumpy. 
  • Spoon over apples.
  • Bake at 375 for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Using a peeler/slicer will save a lot of time and well worth the small investment if you don't already have one! 
I love a big scoop of Breyer's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream or a vanilla frozen yogurt on top of fresh out of the oven apple crisp!
